What telehealth is

Telehealth allows healthcare delivery between you and a licensed provider using secure technology including video, audio, secure messaging, and electronic transmission of records, lab results, and prescriptions.

Benefits

  • Convenient access to care without travel
  • Faster access to providers and prescriptions
  • Continuity of care via secure messaging

Risks & limitations

  • Some conditions require in-person evaluation or testing not available remotely
  • Technology may fail or delay communication
  • A physical exam may be limited compared to in-person
  • Privacy risks exist with any electronic transmission, though we use HIPAA-compliant tools

Your rights

You may withhold or withdraw consent at any time. You may request an in-person referral. Records of your telehealth encounters are maintained in your medical record per state law.

Emergencies

Telehealth is not appropriate for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
