How do I become a patient?+
Start with a free 15-minute discovery call or book a paid consultation directly. We'll review your goals and history and recommend the right path.
Do I need insurance?+
No. Luma is a cash-pay practice with transparent pricing. Many patients use HSA/FSA cards. We can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.
Which states do you serve?+
Luma Health & Wellness currently provides telehealth medical services only to eligible patients physically located in Florida or New York at the time of care. Care is provided by Shirel Toren, FNP-C, a licensed Nurse Practitioner.
Weight loss & GLP-1s
How much weight will I lose on a GLP-1?+
Average weight loss is 15–20% of body weight over a year, with semaglutide at the lower end and tirzepatide at the higher end. Results vary based on dose, adherence, and lifestyle.
What if I can't tolerate GLP-1 side effects?+
We start at low doses and titrate slowly. Most side effects (nausea, fatigue) improve within 2–4 weeks. If they don't, we adjust or pivot to a different protocol.
Will I gain the weight back when I stop?+
Some weight regain is common when stopping any weight loss intervention. That's why we focus on lifestyle changes alongside medication and use low-dose maintenance strategies long-term.
Hormones & HRT
Am I too young for HRT?+
Perimenopause can start in your mid-30s. If you have symptoms — sleep, mood, energy, libido — labs and symptoms tell us more than age alone.
Is HRT safe?+
Modern, properly-dosed HRT has an excellent safety profile for most women, especially when started within 10 years of menopause. We follow current evidence-based guidelines.
Peptides
Where do the peptides come from?+
All peptides are sourced from licensed US compounding pharmacies — not research-grade vendors.
How are peptides administered?+
Most are subcutaneous injections using a tiny insulin needle. Some are oral or topical depending on the molecule.
Logistics
How is medication delivered?+
Medications ship directly from the pharmacy to your home with expedited, discreet shipping included.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Luma does not currently offer memberships.
How do I message my provider?+
Through our secure HIPAA-compliant patient portal. Most non-urgent messages get a response within one business day.
